4. Additional Results

Specify any additional results you want to extract

By default, the SimScale PaceFish will only store results to visualise or post-process that you specifically told the solver to extract. The next three screens will give you options to set some further results.

Forces and Moments

First one up are Forces and Moments. These are mainly to do with structural engineering, and can be used to directly extract base shears and moments around the axes. By default, this will be calculated around the Rhino origin (0,0,0), but optionally, a separate point can be selected with the Select Point button

Surface Results

The next screen will allow you to extract Surface Results for any of the geometry layers. This allows you to visualise velocity and pressure results on each of the surfaces of your Rhino geometry.

The 'Load Meshes' button provides an additional method to input specific meshes for results. The vertices of those meshes will be used as probe points, which can then be visualised in Rhino (to be implemented still...)

Note the check boxes for Transient results or Averaged results on the bottom. You can choose to export the results for either. By default only Averaged results are turned on. Transient results are great for videos and intermediate results, but produce a lot of data.

Slice Planes

The final set of additional results you can specify are results on Slice Planes through the wind tunnel domain. By default a single Vertical Plane along the wind is selected, but you can choose for Vertical Planes across the wind and Horizontal Planes as well. You can specify custom heights for the horizontal planes, separated by a comma.

By default the centre point for the Planes will be a single plane, located at the centre of your Proposed geometry. In case you want another centre point, or multiple, you can choose them with the 'Select Points' button.

Note the check boxes for Transient results or Averaged results on the bottom. You can choose to export the results for either. By default only Averaged results are turned on. Transient results are great for videos and intermediate results, but produce a lot of data.
