Layouts

Thread’s Layouts are flexible, so you start with a blank canvas.

The yellow background indicates you are in "editing" mode. None of the instructions below will work if you see a white background.

If you are in an existing Layout and need to get to edit mode, use the tab at the left to open the Layout panel and select the "edit" button next to the Layout name.

Creating Widgets

Click and drag Widgets to try out different data visualization options. These range from Charts and Graphs to UI Elements such as Checkboxes and Dropdowns to Image Tiles and Data Tables.

Click the save button periodically to save the current Layout, or rename and save as to create multiple Layouts for different use cases.

Editing Widgets

Widgets can be resized and re positioned.

• To resize a Widget, drag in its bottom right hand corner.

• To re position a Widget, drag elsewhere on the card and move it around on the canvas.

Most Widgets have options to select the Columns they will visualize and how the data will be displayed. Click on the button with the gear icon to change a Widget's settings.

• For example, the parallel coordinates Widget allows you to toggle the Column that will be graphed and change their order.

• Try the settings for several Widgets to get a sense of the wide variability of Thread.
